About Ludovic Blain

Overview

Ludovic Blain is a nationally respected leader in multiracial democracy building, political giving strategy, and community centered power building. As the Director and CEO of the California Donor Table (CDT) since 2009, he is the first person of color and first immigrant in the nation to lead a donor table of this kind. He has more than 35 years of experience in grassroots organizing, donor organizing, and policy advocacy focused on strengthening communities of color.
Leadership at the California Donor Table

Under Ludovic’s leadership, CDT has become one of the country’s most established and visible state donor tables focused on progressive power building. He has:
• Mobilized over $60 million across 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) strategies
• Advanced community centered policy, civic engagement, and multiracial democracy efforts
• Built regional and statewide alliances that strengthen Black, Latinx, AAPI, Indigenous, and other communities of color
• Developed durable power building organizations capable of defeating right wing infrastructures
• Helped elect progressive candidates—state legislators, mayors, District Attorneys, and local officials—with deep roots in their communities
• Supported mechanisms for collective governance, inclusive leadership, and long term political infrastructure

Through these efforts, California is winning competitive districts and expanding voter driven, community driven leadership pipelines.
